In 2020, in the quiet, contemplative time of the pandemic, my artist manager connected me with two young Cuban designers with an idea in mind. To try something new, to step out of my comfort zone, and to work with a new medium to see what was possible.
After meeting with Cuban fashion designers Jibaro and Feng Wardrobe, I knew that anything was possible.
Together we created a limited series of up-cycled jean jackets, inspired by my visual universe. The jackets brought a new perspective to my work, I love to see my work travel through the city, to see how it adapts and becomes one with the person who is wearing it.
Each jacket is one of a kind, with hand painted, screen printed and hand embroidered details. These jackets will never be repeated.
Special thanks to Kalea Wiseman who managed the creative project, team logistics and photoshoot.
I love collaborating with other artists to create something exceptional.
